What is Sea Tow

I personally have not had to use Sea Tow. Several of my friends that boat out in the Gulf of Mexico have had to use this service. They speak very highly of the quality of service they received from Sea Tow. One of my friends was about 27 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico and broke a prop shaft and punctured a hole in the bottom of the vessel and had to call Mayday. With in minuets the United States Coast Guard and Sea Tow were on the scene. If it had been much longer the boat would have started sinking. To me for under $200.00 a year it is well worth the insurance to have piece of mind while out on the water.

Sea Tow is a franchise-based international marine assistance organization headquartered in Southold, N.Y. Our company was established in 1983 by Capt. Joseph Frohnhoefer, founder and CEO, after the U.S. Coast Guard ceased responding to non-emergency calls for assistance. The business began, quite simply, with a single boat and a wooden 6"x 6" tow post.

Since then, Sea Tow has grown exponentially. We have a thriving franchise network with over 121 LOCATIONS throughout the United States, Australia, Europe, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico. This network represents nearly 1,000 captains, crew and professional support staff who are standing by — 24 hours a day — to serve the recreational boating community.
